Designing the Visual Identity for Cvent CONNECT. Captivating logo, vibrant colors, and dynamic visuals that transformed the premier event for event planners, drawing thousands of attendees and expanding globally.
Cvent CONNECT is an annual conference and trade show organized by Cvent, a leading event management software company. It brings together event professionals, planners, marketers, and industry experts from around the world to explore the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in the events industry.
Cvent CONNECT emerged as a natural extension of the company's commitment to empowering event professionals and driving innovation in the industry. Since its inception, Cvent CONNECT has served as a platform for knowledge exchange, industry collaboration, and showcasing the latest advancements in event technology. It has become a must-attend event for anyone involved in planning and executing successful events, contributing to the growth and evolution of the events tech industry as a whole.
In 2015, as Cvent CONNECT was gaining popularity and drawing thousands of event planners from all over the US, the event underwent a significant rebranding. This presented an exciting opportunity for me and my design team to shape the event's visual identity for years to come. We embarked on an extensive design exploration, brainstorming various directions for the event's name, logo, and overall visual principles. Our goal was to create a brand that truly captured the essence of the events industry, catering specifically to event planners and professionals seeking to elevate their own events through the use of technology.
After much deliberation, we arrived at a captivating logo design. The mark cleverly intertwined the letters "C" from Cvent and "Connect," visually representing the event's name. Moreover, we leveraged negative space to incorporate a silhouette of a person or a keyhole, adding an intriguing element to the mark. This distinctive design language was then extended to all aspects of the event, including signage, a massive 300-foot curved screen, numerous monitors throughout the event space, and dynamic video and motion animations.
The vibrant colors, playful shapes, and energetic visuals we incorporated into the branding truly reflected the dynamic nature of the industry, breathing life into discussions about the company's enterprise software. The impact was remarkable. In 2015, Cvent CONNECT drew over 3,000 attendees, with an additional 1,000 viewers participating through online streaming. Since then, the event has solidified its position as the premier destination in Las Vegas for event planners and hotel professionals, continuing year after year. Furthermore, it has expanded its reach, giving rise to Cvent CONNECT Europe, further cementing its influence in the global events community.
